Sign up to get free veggies for your garden!

Our Victory Garden project is an effort to provide TCAction program participants with plants to grow fresh vegetables at home or at a nearby community garden. To be eligible, your household must be currently participating with a TCAction program (or an employee of TCAction).

Deadline to submit the request for plants is May 8, 2026

Distribution will be on Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22, 2026 by appointment, for pick-up at Tompkins Community Action, 701 Spencer Rd., Ithaca, or at your child’s Head Start center.

Fill in this request form and return it to us.

Drop off the completed form by May 8, 2026
to any TCAction location.
You can also fax it to: (607)273-3293,
or email it to: Glenda.Abbey@tcaction.org

Held annually since 2010, through a generous collaboration with Cornell University Horticulture Department with Professor Neil Mattson and loyal Cargill volunteers, the Victory Garden provides TCAction program participants with starter vegetable plants to create their own home garden.

All TCAction program participants are eligible to participate. Interested households select vegetable seedlings & herbs using a registration form in early spring for a pickup in May.

Each year, we appreciate Victory Gardeners who donate extra produce back to our Food Pantry.
