Home Visiting Teacher

Home Visiting Teacher

Responsible for implementing an Early Head Start/Head Start home visiting education program for children (birth to 5 years) and families including pregnant mothers; implementing adopted curriculums to encourage active exploration, physical, cognitive and social/emotional development of children by providing resources and modeling that support effective and nurturing adult-child interactions. Utilize developmentally appropriate strategies and individualization to ensure planning and adult-child interactions support the growth of children and family goals. Complete and utilize anecdotal notes as the basis for individualized planning, completing assessments, family progress conferencing, reporting and supporting child/family program transitions. Meet program plans that support School Readiness and Family Engagement framework outcomes and provide quality, integrated service delivery to families and their children in their homes throughout Tompkins County.

Min. Req.:

  • Associate Degree in Early Education or Family Services with 12 credits in child development OR Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential with specific Home Visiting training
  • Two (2) years’ work experience meeting position competencies

IT Coordinator

Information Technology Coordinator

Information Technology Coordinator supports agency hardware and software systems and provides staff tech support. Responsibilities include monitoring and tracking of agency Help Desk, maintaining databases, purchasing IT inventory, and supporting implementation of system wide upgrades and cross platform projects at multiple agency sites. Also responsible for providing training resources to enhance staff computer skill sets.

Min. Req.:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Technology or related field plus two (2) years’ experience computer technology experience or High School diploma plus five (5) years’ experience in computer technology.
  • Meet TCAction criteria for satisfactory driver’s license in order to access agency owned vehicles as well as access to personal transportation for work related activities.

Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for maintaining and coordinating agency fiscal processes; including implementing the agency’s financial, accounting, audit, and procurement policies. Ensures all financial processes are accurate, timely and facilitates grant fiscal compliance.  Coordinates and maintains payroll service delivery, grant and contract budget development and funding vouchering, shared cost allocations as well as accounts payable functions; ensuring all financial reports are accurate, compliant and submitted on a timely basis.  The Chief Financial Officer supervises the Finance Manager and all related finance staff.

Min. Req.:

  • Four (4) year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; plus 5 years of not-for-profit financial management experience required; including supervisory and management work experience.
  • Experience with Grant management, reporting and refunding applicants.
  • Experience with Indirect, Wage and Shared Cost Allocation implementation and cost controls.
  • Experience with Federal and State funding guidelines and regulations.
  • Experience in various software and computer accounting systems.

Support Aide

Support quality integrated service delivery in classrooms that promotes children’s social and emotional development as well as health and safety, as defined in daily lesson plans. Support implementing a service delivery in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, regulatory guidelines, and TCAction policies and procedures. Support nurturing and responsive practices, interactions, and environments that foster trust and emotional security for children. Assist implementing adopted curriculum as well as defined department initiatives for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

Responsibilities include: assistance with child hygiene, supporting children during play and activities, food service delivery, and data reporting tracking. Support meeting program goal plans for School Readiness and Family Engagement outcomes for children and their families at sites throughout Tompkins County.

Min Req.:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year work experience with infants, toddlers, or preschool age children.
  • Complete three (3) continuing education credits in Early Childhood Education within first year of hire

Housing Assistant

Housing Assistants implements day-to-day service delivery to Housing program participants; maintaining assigned caseload. Responsibilities include: timely completion of re-certification, collecting documentation, identification of household composition and income, collecting third party verification and supporting documentation to ensure program compliance, data base input and maintenance, issuing voucher documents; conducting re-certifications; and maintaining and completing required reports and records.

Housing Resident Assistant – PT

Housing Resident Assistant – PT

Provides on-site coverage at Supportive Housing Program locations; work schedule defined by location and resident needs. Primarily responsible for maintaining a staff presence, building and grounds cleanliness and safety, monitors resident adherence to program rules and daily reporting requirements. Also provides program support as needed including resident transportation to meetings or appointments, rent collection activities and some light maintenance. Also includes data management, file organization and reporting. Work hours: 20 hours per week/ non-traditional; nights and weekends.

Min. Req.:

  • HS Diploma/GED and at least one (1) years’ experience in human services or customer service delivery.
  •  At time of hire; and Bi-Annual thereafter, Satisfactory Medical Work Clearance.

Mental Health Manager

Mental Health Manager

Min. Req.:

  • Master’s degree and NYS licensure in Mental Health Counseling
  • Four (4) years direct experience working with children birth to age 8.
  • Knowledge of mental health and special education services for young children.
